How to ask

Email support@alevatebooks.com from the address you sign in with, with the subject Delete my account.

Sending it from your own sign-in address is how we know the request is yours. If you cannot, write from any address and we will verify another way before anything is removed — we would rather be slow than delete the wrong person’s books.

We reply within 30 days, and in practice far sooner.

What is deleted

• Your sign-in: name, email address, password and every active session
• Your membership of every business, and any pending invitations
• Documents you captured — the photographs of receipts, bills and slips
• Your personal settings and saved preferences

Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis, so copies there disappear within 35 days of the deletion.

What is kept, and why

This is the part most deletion pages leave vague, so we will be direct about it.

Accounting entries stay. Once a transaction is posted it belongs to that business’s books, not to the person who typed it, and tax law in Pakistan, the UAE and the UK requires a business to retain its records for several years. Deleting your account removes you; it does not erase a company’s ledger. The entries stay with the business, and your name is replaced with “Deleted user” in the audit trail so history stays intact without identifying you.

If you own the business and want the books themselves deleted, say so in your email and we will delete the entire business — subject to the retention periods above, and provided no other firm relies on those records.

If an accountancy firm keeps books about you using Alevate, that firm decides what happens to them. Ask them, and we will help them answer you.

Deleting only some data

You do not have to close your account to have data removed. Ask for the specific thing — a document you uploaded by mistake, an old phone’s session — and we will remove it while your account carries on.

Getting a copy first

Deletion cannot be undone. If you want your records before they go, ask in the same email and we will send an export first.
